Hey everyone! My name is Sarah and I will be a junior this upcoming fall. Transitioning from a high school to a pre-nursing college student may seem intimidating, but there is a way around it! Something that you will learn about yourself this year is how you learn best. Everyone is different, and we all have various ways of learning and studying. Some people learn better on their own, while others learn best with others. Typically, after taking your first exam for a science prerequisite, you will notice if you need to make any changes to your studying habits, or sometimes it can be the way you take your notes! This can include recording class lectures so you can review the class material carefully. One thing that always comforts me as a nursing student, is to know that all the upperclassmen and SXU nursing graduates have gone through our footsteps. You are never truly alone in this journey. I would highly recommend participating in SNA! It gives you a chance to connect with other nursing students, especially upperclassmen, who can share their experiences with you and even recommend tips on how they have studied and survived certain courses. I cannot stress this enough, do not be scared to ask for help, we were all in your shoes once!
